"WIZARD"
And THAT'S what I call redemption. Or... sort of. I got the number of games wrong, but hey, I continued my 100% wrong streak in the West since my first post, which is probably not good for the Sharks, but then again, who the hell really knows at this point? Okay, so for the Finals pick. I know a lot of you are really reading for precisely this moment. So, here it is, the moment you've been waiting for. Who does Skylar really think will win the Stanley Cup? You know, it's funny, because this is the first time in 25 years that the Sharks have been to the Finals, and really all the pressure's on them, except it's not, because everyone just expects them to bomb in the playoffs anyway, so at this point, everyone's already saying well done to them, while the Penguins haven't been back to the Finals in 7 years (I know, Sharks fans be like "Psh, 7 years..."), they were like supposed to be here all the time, so, pressures all on them, except it's not, because like they've done it before, the Sharks are in their first rodeo.
By this point, I really hope you figured out that I'm just rambling. The truth is, I don't know what to expect from this matchup. The two teams have such limited history and come from such different places that it's really hard to pick a favorite (look, I'm waiting to like 10 minutes to puck drop to write this!). The Penguins are a team certainly considered elite, and while everyone expects them here, they really have over performed teams with higher expectations, like the Capitals and Rangers. And they've done it by just being themselves. Then again, the Sharks have done practically the same thing, shaking off the daemons of LA and simply out dueling the mighty Blues, who probably replace the Sharks as the team most deserving of a Stanley Cup Finals and haven't been there in a while. And the Sharks have looked really comfortable doing it. After taking care of the Blues, Sharks forward Joe Thornton looked like a big kid having the time of his life, claiming the Sharks could take on Pittsburgh and Tampa together. You know what? I believe him! I've never seen a team so free and so loose as the Sharks, and it's coming through in their game. They're having a blast out there, and it's becoming their greatest strength. In the end, give it to the kids having fun. Sharks in 6.
